Dr. Janine Chitty is a professor of English and English with teacher licensure. She completed her Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and has 15 years of experience in the secondary education classroom, and 15 years of experience in higher education. She is currently teaching English undergraduate education courses at UAFS as well as graduate courses in the UAFS Master of Education program. Courses taught include Composition, American Literature, Young Adult Literature, Action Research in Education, Textual Research Methods, Assessment, and both graduate and undergraduate Capstone. She was awarded the UAFS Lucille Speakman Master Teacher Award in 2022 for excellence in teaching, spotlighted as a UAFS CAS Faculty Advisor in 2023, and currently serves as Faculty Advisor for the UAFS BCM.

Janine accepted Jesus Christ as her Saviour at an early age, and she has remained faithful in worship and service in several Baptist churches in Missouri, Texas, and Arkansas, throughout her life. She has been married to her husband, Chuck, for more than 40 years. They have one daughter, Lauren, who is truly a gift and a blessing from God. Together, they continue to worship and serve at Rye Hill Baptist Church, where they have been for several years.
